Utathya urges the king to embody the time-tested ethical conduct upheld by rājarṣis and to commit himself promptly to a higher, luminous ‘divine path’—a synthesis of righteous governance and inner spiritual orientation.
In the didactic setting of Śānti Parva, the sage Utathya addresses a king, exhorting him to adopt the exemplary standards of royal-sage tradition and to turn swiftly toward a spiritually elevated course of life and rule.
