ये चाप्यत्र सहाया: स्यु: पार्थिवानां युधिष्ठिर । ते चैवांशहरा: सर्वे धर्मे परकृतेडनघ,निष्पाप युधिष्ठिर! जो लोग इस जगत्‌में राजाओंके सहायक होते हैं, वे सभी उस राज्यमें दूसरोंद्वारा किये गये धर्मका अंश प्राप्त कर लेते हैं

ye cāpy atra sahāyāḥ syuḥ pārthivānāṃ yudhiṣṭhira | te caivāṃśaharāḥ sarve dharme parakṛte 'naghā ||

Bhishma dijo: «Oh Yudhiṣṭhira, quienes aquí sirven como ayudantes y sostenedores de los reyes—siendo irreprochables—cada uno de ellos se vuelve partícipe del mérito del dharma realizado por otros dentro de ese reino.»
