Āścarya-kathana: Brāhmaṇa–Nāga Dialogue on Sūrya (Vivasvat) and the ‘Second Sun’ Phenomenon
जायमानं हि पुरुष यं पश्येन्मधुसूदन: । साच्चिकस्तु स विज्ञेयो भवेन्मोक्षे च निश्चित:,जन्म-मरणके चकक््करमें पड़े हुए जिस पुरुषको भगवान् मधुसूदन अपनी कृपा-दृष्टिसे देख लेते हैं, उसे सात्विक जानना चाहिये। वह मोक्षका सुनिश्चित अधिकारी हो जाता है
jāyamānaṃ hi puruṣaṃ yaṃ paśyen madhusūdanaḥ | sāttvikaḥ tu sa vijñeyo bhaven mokṣe ca niścitaḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Aquel a quien Madhusūdana (el Señor) mira con Su gracia aun cuando nace en el ciclo de nacimiento y muerte, debe ser reconocido como de naturaleza sāttvika; y se convierte en un candidato seguro para la liberación.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A person marked by sattva (inner purity and clarity) is recognized by the Lord’s gracious regard; such divine favor signifies firm eligibility for mokṣa. Liberation is presented as tied to inner disposition and grace rather than external identity alone.
Vaiśampāyana, in the didactic setting of Śānti Parva, states a criterion for spiritual status: the one upon whom Madhusūdana casts His compassionate glance—even from birth—is to be known as sāttvika and assured of liberation.
