मन्नत्रैश्न संयुयोजाशु सो5भवत् परशुर्महान् । इसी समय रुद्रका विनाश करनेके लिये नरने एक सींक निकाली और उसे मन्त्रोंसे अभिमन्त्रित करके शीघ्र ही छोड़ दिया। वह सींक एक बहुत बड़े परशुके रूपमें परिणत हो गयी
mantraiḥ saṃyuyojāśu so 'bhavat paraśur mahān | asmin samaye rudraka-vināśāya naraṇā ekaṃ śaṅkuṃ niṣkālya taṃ mantraiḥ abhimantrya śīghraṃ mumoca | sa śaṅkuḥ paraśu-rūpeṇa mahān abhavat ||
«En aquel instante, con la intención de destruir a Rudra, Nara arrancó una púa, la consagró con mantras y la arrojó de inmediato. Por la fuerza de los mantras de consagración, el arma fue investida al instante y se transformó en una poderosa hacha.»
