Atithi-prāpti and the Brāhmaṇa’s Deliberation on Triadic Dharma (अतिथिप्राप्तिः धर्मत्रयविचारश्च)

Educational Q&A

That properly honoured sacrificial and duty-based actions (yajña/pravṛtti) nourish strength and enable one to uphold society and the cosmic order; power is legitimized as service—sustaining the worlds rather than exploiting them.

Vaiśampāyana, in the didactic flow of Śānti Parva, states a principle of reciprocity: through the spread and observance of sanctioned rites and duties, the agents (implicitly rulers and householders) gain strength and thereby maintain the welfare of all beings.
