Puruṣaikatva-vyākhyāna: The One Virāṭ Puruṣa and the Many ‘Puruṣas’

ऊचुः संहृष्टमनसो राजोपरिचरं तदा । 'देवताओ! हमलोगोंको एक साथ होकर उनका अतिशय प्रिय करना चाहिये।” अपनी बुद्धिके द्वारा ऐसा निश्चय करके वे सभी देवता राजा उपरिचर वसुके पास जाकर प्रसन्नचित्त हो बोले--
ūcuḥ saṁhṛṣṭamanaso rājoparicaraṁ tadā | “devatāḥ! vayam ekībhūya tasya atīva priyaṁ kartum arhāmaḥ” iti buddhyā niścitya te sarve devā rājoparicaravasoḥ samīpaṁ gatvā prasannacittā ūcuḥ ||
Bhishma dijo: Entonces, con el ánimo colmado de júbilo, se dirigieron al rey Uparicara: «¡Oh dioses! Unidos, hagamos lo que le sea sumamente grato». Resuelto esto por su propio discernimiento, todos los dioses fueron ante el rey Uparicara Vasu y, con el corazón alegre, le hablaron.
