Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that the Supreme Self is not grasped by mere external means but is directly realized through jñāna-yoga (disciplined knowledge and inner discernment). Recognizing the Self as the source from which beings arise naturally culminates in reverent worship—devotion grounded in insight.

Nārada is speaking and points to a realization shared by “we two” (dual): they understand that their own manifestation originates from the eternal Self. On the basis of this knowledge, they respond not with pride but with worship of the सनातन (eternal) परमात्मा.
