उक्ता: स््मो यद् भगवता तदात्वायतिसंहितम् । तन्नो मनसि संरूढं करिष्यामस्तथा च तत्,फिर व्यासजीसे बोले--“भगवन्! आपने भविष्यमें हमारे हितका विचार करके जो बातें बतायी हैं, वे हमारे मनमें बैठ गयी हैं। हम अवश्य उनका पालन करेंगे”
uktāḥ smo yad bhagavatā tadātvāyati-saṁhitam | tan no manasi saṁrūḍhaṁ kariṣyāmas tathā ca tat ||
Luego dijeron a Vyāsa: «¡Oh Bienaventurado! La enseñanza que has pronunciado—apropiada para el presente y reunida con la mirada puesta en lo venidero, por nuestro bien—ha echado raíces firmes en nuestra mente. Obrarremos conforme a ella y la cumpliremos tal como es.»
भीष्म उवाच
The verse emphasizes receptive learning and ethical follow-through: wise counsel that addresses both immediate needs and future consequences should be internalized (‘rooted in the mind’) and then implemented faithfully.
Bhishma responds to a revered speaker’s instruction, affirming that the guidance has been understood and firmly retained, and promising to act in accordance with it.
