सोअमृष्यमाणस्तद्वाक्यं समुद्धरणनिश्चित:
so 'mṛṣyamāṇas tad-vākyaṃ samuddharaṇa-niścitaḥ
Bhīṣma dijo: «Incapaz de soportar aquellas palabras, se resolvió con firmeza a actuar con decisión, a sacar el asunto de su apuro y llevarlo a un desenlace claro».
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights how harsh or provocative speech can trigger inner agitation, and how that agitation can harden into determination for decisive action. Ethically, it points to the need for restraint in speech and for mindful governance of one’s reactions before acting.
Bhīṣma describes a person who, stung by what was said, cannot bear the words and therefore becomes resolute about a course of action aimed at ‘extricating’ or ‘bringing the matter to a conclusion’ (samuddharaṇa).
