Śānti-parva Adhyāya 30: Nārada–Parvata Samaya-bhaṅga, Śāpa, and the Marriage of Sukumārī
Honor should be rendered in proportion to merit and in accordance with propriety (yathānyāya). True authority or esteem arises from one’s own tejas—inner excellence and moral-spiritual potency—rather than mere external status.
Kṛṣṇa addresses a Bhārata and describes a figure who, possessing innate splendor, moves throughout the earth and is everywhere received with fitting respect, indicating widespread recognition of his worth.
