Welfare, Steadfastness, and Norms of Giving
न चैशि: पुण्यकर्माणो युज्यन्ते चाभिसंधिजै: । एवंविधैश्व बहुभिरपरै: प्राकृतेरपि,पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले मनुष्य इस तरहके उपायोंसे प्राण नहीं देते तथा ऐसे-ऐसे दूसरे अधम उपायोंसे भी उनकी मृत्यु नहीं होती
na caiśiḥ puṇyakarmāṇo yujyante cābhisaṃdhijaiḥ | evaṃvidhaiś ca bahubhir aparaiḥ prākṛter api ||
Dijo Parāśara: Quienes están consagrados a las obras meritorias no hallan su fin por artificios urdidos con intriga; ni perecen por muchos otros medios viles semejantes, nacidos de la naturaleza común y mundana. El verso afirma una visión ética: una vida fundada en la virtud no se derriba fácilmente por tramas mezquinas ni por estratagemas indignas.
पराशर उवाच
The verse teaches that a person established in puṇya (merit/virtue) is not easily destroyed by calculated plots or ignoble, low methods; ethical living is presented as a protective moral force against petty malice.
Parāśara is speaking in a didactic context within Śānti Parva, offering moral instruction about the resilience of the virtuous and the limited power of deceitful contrivances against those committed to righteous conduct.
