गर्भमांससूगालाय तारकाय तराय च । नमो यज्ञाय यजिने हुताय प्रहुताय च

Transliteration

garbhamāṃsaśṛgālāya tārakāya tarāya ca | namo yajñāya yajine hutāya prahutāya ca ||

Translation

Bhīṣma ofrece reverente salutación a la Realidad suprema: a Aquel a quien los seres encarnados buscan irresistiblemente, como un chacal codicioso de carne, por la vida del cuerpo; y que es también el Libertador y el medio mismo para cruzar más allá. Ante Él me inclino como el sacrificio y como el sacrificante; como la ofrenda vertida (huta) y como el fuego sagrado que la recibe (prahuta).
