Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions
अनेन हि तपस्तप्तं बलार्थममराधिप । षष्टिं वर्षमहस््राणि ब्रह्मा चास्मै वरं ददौ,अमरेश्वर! इस वृत्रासुरने बलकी प्राप्तिके लिये ही साठ हजार वर्षोतक तप किया था और तब ब्रह्माजीने इसे मनोवाञ्छित वर दिया था
anena hi tapas taptaṃ balārtham amarādhipa | ṣaṣṭiṃ varṣa-sahasrāṇi brahmā cāsmai varaṃ dadau ||
Maheshvara dijo: «Oh señor de los inmortales, por esta misma austeridad realizó penitencia en busca de fuerza. Durante sesenta mil años practicó tapas, y entonces Brahmā le concedió el don que anhelaba».
