Adhyāya 270 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s inquiry on saṃnyāsa; Bhīṣma on calculable time, tamas, and karma

संनिकृष्टश्न देवस्य न चान्यैमनिुषैर्वृतः । एष मे दास्यति धन प्रभूतं शीघ्रमेव च,यह देवताका संनिकटवर्ती है और दूसरे मनुष्योंने इसे घेर नहीं रखा है। इसलिये यह मुझे शीघ्र ही प्रचुर धन देगा

sannikṛṣṭaś ca devasya na cānyair manuṣair vṛtaḥ | eṣa me dāsyati dhanaṁ prabhūtaṁ śīghram eva ca ||

Dijo Bhīṣma: «Éste está cerca de la deidad y no lo rodean otros hombres. Por ello, pronto me otorgará abundantes riquezas».
