न चात्मा शक्‍्यते द्रष्टमिन्द्रिये: कामगोचरै: । प्रवर्तमानैरनये दुष्करैरकृतात्मभि:

Transliteration

na cātmā śakyate draṣṭum indriyaiḥ kāmagocaraiḥ | pravartamānair anaye duṣkarair akṛtātmabhiḥ ||

Translation

Vyāsa dijo: El Sí mismo no puede verse de verdad por medio de los sentidos, pues los sentidos se mueven en el campo del deseo. Cuando corren por la senda del error—inquiets y difíciles de refrenar—sobre todo en quienes no se han dominado, se vuelve imposible la visión directa de la realidad interior.
