Inquiry into Karma, Knowledge, Fate, and Nature
लोकस्य विविध॑ चित्त प्रेक्षते चाप्यकुत्सयन् । संसर्गविद्याकुशलस्तस्मात् सर्वत्र पूजित:
lokasya vividha-cittaṁ prekṣate cāpy akutsayan | saṁsarga-vidyā-kuśalas tasmāt sarvatra pūjitaḥ ||
Observa y comprende los múltiples y variados estados de ánimo del mundo, y aun así no menosprecia a nadie. Diestro en el conocimiento de las compañías—cómo el trato y el contacto moldean a las personas—por eso es honrado en todas partes.
वायुदेव उवाच
True wisdom includes understanding diverse human mentalities without falling into contempt or blame; mastery of how association influences character makes one fit to guide others and thus worthy of honor.
Vāyudeva describes Nārada’s conduct: he observes people’s varied dispositions, refrains from condemning them, and is renowned for discerning the nature and effects of different kinds of company—hence his universal respect.
