इदमद्य करिष्यामि श्वः कर्तास्मीति वादिनम्‌

Transliteration

idam adya kariṣyāmi śvaḥ kartāsmīti vādinam

Translation

Dijo Bhīṣma: No debe confiarse en quien no cesa de declarar: «Hoy haré esto; mañana lo haré», pues tal hablar aplaza el deber y debilita la resolución. La enseñanza ética es obrar con firmeza y a su debido tiempo, en vez de esconderse tras promesas repetidas de una acción futura.
