Bali–Vāsava Dialogue on Kāla and Steadfastness
Bhīṣma teaches that mastery over the senses and faults—expressed through non-enmity, good conduct toward all, and equanimity in praise and blame—leads to honor in this life and heavenly attainment after death.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma, Bhīṣma continues advising the listener on the qualities of an ideal, disciplined person and states the worldly and posthumous results of such virtuous conduct.
