On the Principle of Keśava: Cosmogony and Divine Epithets

Merit and spiritual results are ethically framed here as something that should not become a cause for rivalry or coercion; the Brāhmaṇa proposes equality and shared participation, emphasizing fairness, consent, and companionship in pursuing one’s destined course.
A Brāhmaṇa addresses a king before an assembly, stating that he tried hard to give the king the fruit of his japa/tapas, but since the king insists on sharing the result together, the Brāhmaṇa agrees that both should receive equal merit and invites the king to proceed together as far as their respective destiny permits.
