Manu’s Instruction on Elemental Origination, Sense-Withdrawal, and Discrimination of the Supreme Nature

रश्मीस्तेषां स मनसा यदा सम्यड्नियच्छति । तदा प्रकाशते<स्यात्मा घटे दीपो ज्वलन्निव

raśmīs teṣāṃ sa manasā yadā samyaṅ niyacchati | tadā prakāśate 'syātmā ghaṭe dīpo jvalann iva ||

Dijo Bhīṣma: Cuando una persona, por medio de la mente, refrena debidamente las riendas de los sentidos, entonces el Sí mismo en su interior resplandece—como una lámpara que arde firme dentro de una vasija. La enseñanza enfatiza la disciplina interior: el dominio ético comienza gobernando los sentidos con una mente bien dirigida, y de esa contención nace la clara autoiluminación, no el lucimiento exterior.
