धर्मसूक्ष्मे त्यागप्रधान्यविचारः
Subtle Dharma and the Primacy of Renunciation
यस्त्वेतन्मन्यसे पार्थ न ज्यायो5स्ति धनादिति । तत्र ते वर्तयिष्यामि यथा नैतत् प्रधानतः
yas tv etan manyase pārtha na jyāyo 'sti dhanād iti | tatra te vartayiṣyāmi yathā naitat pradhānataḥ ||
Si tú, oh Pārtha, sostienes esta idea —que no hay nada superior a la riqueza—, entonces te lo explicaré de tal modo que comprenderás: la riqueza no es, en verdad, el principio supremo.
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse challenges the belief that wealth is the highest good. Yudhiṣṭhira signals a dharmic reordering of values: material prosperity is useful but not ultimate; ethical principle and right discernment are higher.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Pārtha (Arjuna), responding to the notion that nothing surpasses wealth. He prepares to instruct him with reasoning and examples to show that wealth is not the primary or supreme aim.
