Adhyāya 174: Karma as an inescapable companion (कर्मानुगमन-उपदेश)
ततो<भ्ययाद् देवराजो विरूपाक्षपुरं तदा । प्राह चेद॑ विरूपाक्षं दिष्टया संजीवितस्त्वया,उसी समय देवराज इन्द्र विरूपाक्षके नगरमें आये और विरूपाक्षसे इस प्रकार बोले --'बड़े सौभाग्यकी बात है कि तुम्हारे द्वारा बकराजको जीवन मिला'
tato 'bhyayād devarājo virūpākṣapuraṃ tadā | prāha ced virūpākṣaṃ diṣṭyā saṃjīvitastvayā ||
Entonces el rey de los dioses, Indra, llegó a la ciudad de Virūpākṣa. Dirigiéndose a Virūpākṣa, dijo: «Es, en verdad, una gran fortuna que, por tu mediación, Bakrāja haya sido devuelto a la vida».
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical value of preserving life and recognizes such an act as auspicious (diṣṭyā). Indra’s praise frames life-restoration as a deed worthy of divine approval, implying that dharmic action brings honor and blessing.
Indra arrives at Virūpākṣa’s city and formally addresses Virūpākṣa, congratulating him that Bakrāja has been brought back to life through Virūpākṣa’s agency.
