Adhyāya 174: Karma as an inescapable companion (कर्मानुगमन-उपदेश)
A ruler should act with restraint and impartiality: after addressing a case involving wrongdoing, he should dismiss the person without clinging to gain or resentment, and return to orderly governance.
Bhīṣma narrates that the king, after sending the person away along with his wealth, goes back into his own residence—marking the closure of the episode and the restoration of royal order.
