निर्वेदोपदेशः (Nirveda-Upadeśa) — Maṅki’s Dispassion and the Limits of Wealth-Seeking
तैरेव सहितो राज्ञो वेश्म तूर्णमुपाद्रवत् । दर्शन राक्षसेन्द्रस्य कांक्षमाणो द्विजस्तदा,राक्षसराजके दर्शनकी इच्छा मनमें लिये वह ब्राह्मण उन सेवकोंके साथ शीघ्र ही राजमहलमें जा पहुँचा
taireva sahito rājño veśma tūrṇam upādravat | darśanaṁ rākṣasendrasya kāṅkṣamāṇo dvijas tadā ||
Acompañado por aquellos mismos servidores, el brahmán se apresuró al instante hacia el palacio del rey, pues en ese momento anhelaba obtener audiencia con el señor de los rākṣasas.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights decisive action guided by a specific aim (seeking darśana/audience). Ethically, it points to how intention and resolve propel conduct, even when one approaches a formidable or morally ambiguous authority.
A brahmin, accompanied by the same attendants, quickly goes to the king’s palace because he wishes to see (gain an audience with) the rākṣasa-lord.
