Śānti-parva 168: Śoka-nivṛtti-buddhi (The Cognition that Reduces Grief) and Piṅgalā’s Nairāśya

नास्ति नासीन्नाभविष्यद्‌ भूतं कामात्मकात्‌ परम्‌ | एतत्‌ सारं महाराज धर्मार्थावत्र संस्थितौ

¡Oh gran rey! No existe, no existió ni existirá ser alguno que esté más allá de la naturaleza del kāma (deseo). Por ello, el kāma es la esencia misma del triple fin. ¡Oh Maharaja! También el dharma y el artha se hallan asentados en él.
