अद्रोह: सर्वभूतेषु कर्मणा मनसा गिरा । अनुग्रहश्न दानं च सतां धर्म: सनातन:,मन, वाणी और क्रियाद्वारा सभी प्राणियोंके साथ कभी द्रोह न करना तथा दया और दान--यह श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंका सनातन धर्म है
adrohaḥ sarvabhūteṣu karmaṇā manasā girā | anugrahaś ca dānaṃ ca satāṃ dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: No albergar malicia contra ningún ser—ni por obra, ni por pensamiento, ni por palabra—y mostrar compasión y dar con generosidad: éste es el dharma eterno de los buenos y nobles.
भीष्म उवाच
True dharma for the virtuous is universal non-hostility—never harming or bearing malice toward any being in action, thought, or speech—together with compassion and charitable giving.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction section, Bhishma continues advising Yudhishthira on righteous conduct after the war, defining the timeless marks of a good person’s dharma: harmlessness, compassion, and generosity.
