ऑपन--माजल बक। असल पञ्चपञ्चाशर्दाधिकशततमो< ध्याय: नारदजीका सेमल-वृक्षको उसका अहंकार देखकर फटकारना नारद उवाच बन्धुत्वादथवा सख्याच्छाल्मले नात्र संशय: । पालयत्येव सततं भीम: सर्वत्रगोडनिलः
nārada uvāca |
bandhutvād athavā sakhyāc chālmale nātra saṁśayaḥ |
pālayaty eva satataṁ bhīmaḥ sarvatrago 'nilaḥ ||
Nārada dijo: «Oh Śālmalī, no hay duda en esto: porque te tiene por pariente o por amigo, el terrible dios del Viento, que se mueve por todas partes, te protege sin cesar en todo lugar».
नारद उवाच
Protection and favor often arise from relationship—kinship or friendship—rather than from one’s own greatness; recognizing the true cause of one’s security helps curb pride and cultivates humility.
Nārada addresses the Śālmali tree and points out that the fearsome, all-ranging Wind-god continually safeguards it, specifically because Vāyu considers it a friend or relative—setting up a corrective to the tree’s arrogance.
