Daṇḍa as the Foundation of Social Order (दण्डप्रतिष्ठा)
विधान दैवविदहितं तत्र विद्वान् न मुहाृति । यथा सृष्टोडसि राजेन्द्र तथा भवितुमरहसि
vidhānaṁ daivavihitaṁ tatra vidvān na muhyati | yathā sṛṣṭo ’si rājendra tathā bhavitum arhasi ||
«Esto es un decreto establecido por el destino; por ello el sabio no se deja engañar al respecto. Oh el mejor de los reyes, tal como el Creador te ha formado—poniéndote en tu nacimiento, linaje y condición—así es propio que seas: obra conforme a la naturaleza y al deber (dharma) que te han sido asignados.»
