कपोती-विलापः स्वर्गसंयोगश्च
The Dove’s Lament and Celestial Reunion
पापात्मा पापकारित्वात् पापमेव चकार स: । वह पापात्मा व्याध यद्यपि स्वयं भी बड़े कष्टमें था तो भी उसने उस कबूतरीको उठाकर पिंजड़ेमें डाल लिया। स्वयं दुःखसे पीड़ित होनेपर भी उसने दूसरे प्राणीको दुःख ही पहुँचाया। सदा पापमें ही प्रवृत्त रहनेके कारण उस पापात्माने उस समय भी पाप ही किया
pāpātmā pāpakāritvāt pāpam eva cakāra saḥ |
Bhishma dijo: Por ser de naturaleza pecaminosa y estar habituado a obrar mal, no hizo sino pecado. Aunque el cazador mismo se hallaba en gran aflicción, aun así apresó a la paloma y la encerró en una jaula; aun padeciendo, hizo padecer a otro ser. Siempre inclinado al mal, aquel hombre perverso eligió el pecado incluso en ese momento.
