Śaraṇāgata-Atithi-Dharma in the Kapota Narrative

Educational Q&A

Mere noise or protest does not determine right conduct; one should not claim moral authority without true qualification, and boasting about one’s own righteousness is itself a fault.

Viśvāmitra rebukes an interlocutor who tries to stop or lecture him on dharma. Using the image of cows drinking despite frogs croaking, he asserts that he will continue with his chosen course and denies the other person’s standing to preach, warning him against self-glorification.
