Protection of the Refuge-Seeker: Opening of the Kapota Narrative

एवं दण्डं प्रशंसन्ति पण्डितास्तत्त्वदर्शिन: । तस्माच्चतुष्टये तस्मिन्‌ प्रधानो दण्ड उच्यते,“इस प्रकार तत्त्वदर्शी विद्वान्‌ दण्डकी प्रशंसा करते हैं; अतः साम, दान आदि चारों उपायोंमें दण्डको ही प्रधान बताया जाता है

Dijo Bhīṣma: Así es como los sabios, conocedores de la verdad, alaban el daṇḍa. Por ello, entre los cuatro medios—sāma (conciliación), dāna (don), bheda (división) y daṇḍa (castigo)—se declara que el daṇḍa es el principal.
