देशकालौ समासाद्य विक्रमेत विचक्षण: । देशकालव्यतीतो हि विक्रमो निष्फलो भवेत्,“बुद्धिमान्ू पुरुष देश और कालको अपने अनुकूल पाकर पराक्रम प्रकट करे। देशकालकी अनुकूलता न होनेपर किया गया पराक्रम निष्फल होता है
deśakālau samāsādya vikrameta vicakṣaṇaḥ | deśakālavyatīto hi vikramo niṣphalo bhavet ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: «El prudente debe mostrar su valor sólo después de asegurarse un lugar y un tiempo favorables. Pues el coraje que no atiende al lugar y al tiempo—fuera de sazón y de contexto—acaba siendo estéril.»
