आपद्धर्मनिर्णयः — विश्वामित्र-श्वपचसंवादः

यम्सित्रं भीतवत्साध्यं यन्मित्र॑ भयसंहितम्‌ । सुरक्षितव्यं तत्‌ कार्य पाणि: सर्पमुखादिव

yam mitraṁ bhītavat sādhyaṁ yan mitraṁ bhaya-saṁhitam | surakṣitavyaṁ tat kāryaṁ pāṇiḥ sarpa-mukhādiva ||

Bhishma dijo: «Una amistad forjada por una criatura atemorizada, y una amistad en la que uno se hace amigo permaneciendo uno mismo con miedo—tales amistades deben tratarse con cuidadosa protección. Hay que cooperar en las tareas del otro, pero siempre resguardándose, como el encantador de serpientes que juega manteniendo su mano a salvo de la boca del ofidio.»
