This line is a colophon (ending marker), not a teaching verse. Its function is to locate the preceding discourse within Śānti Parva’s Āpaddharma section, emphasizing that the chapter’s guidance concerns righteous conduct under adversity.
The text signals the completion of a chapter in the Mahābhārata. In context, Bhīṣma’s instruction to Yudhiṣṭhira continues across chapters; here the compiler/editorial voice closes the chapter by naming the parva and the Āpaddharma subsection.
