आपद्धर्मे कोशबलन्यायः | Treasury, Force, and Crisis-Ethics for the King
इह द्रक्ष्यामि त॑ पुत्र द्रक्ष्यामीहेति पार्थिव: । एवमाशाहतो राजा चरन् वनमिदं पुरा
iha drakṣyāmi taṁ putra drakṣyāmīheti pārthivaḥ | evam āśāhato rājā caran vanam idaṁ purā ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: «Aquí veré a ese hijo; aquí, en verdad, lo veré». Así, fuertemente atado por la esperanza, el rey—señor de la tierra—vagó antaño por este bosque, impulsado por el anhelo de recobrar lo perdido.
भीष्म उवाच
Hope can be a sustaining force that drives one to continue difficult effort, but it can also bind the mind to expectation; the ethical lesson is to act with perseverance while seeking clarity rather than being consumed by mere anticipation.
A king, yearning to see his son again, repeatedly tells himself that he will surely find him ‘here’ and, propelled by that hope, roams through the forest searching.
