Bhīma’s Rebuttal of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Renunciatory Inclination
वयं हि बाहुबलिन: कृतविद्या मनस्विन: । क्लीबस्य वाक्ये तिष्ठामो यथैवाशक्तयस्तथा,हम बाहुबलसे सम्पन्न, अस्र-शस्त्रोंके विद्वान् और मनस्वी हैं तो भी असमर्थ पुरुषोंके समान एक कायर भाईकी अज्ञामें रहते हैं
vayaṁ hi bāhubalinaḥ kṛtavidyā manasvinaḥ | klībasya vākye tiṣṭhāmo yathaivāśaktayas tathā ||
Dijo Bhima: «Somos hombres de brazos poderosos, adiestrados en las artes de la guerra y firmes de ánimo; y, sin embargo, obedecemos la palabra de un enclenque, como si nosotros mismos fuéramos impotentes.»
भीम उवाच
Mere strength and skill are ethically empty if they submit to cowardice or unjust restraint; dharma for a warrior-minded person demands resolute, rightful action rather than passive obedience to fear.
Bhima vents indignation that, despite the Pandavas’ power and training, they are living as if helpless—bound by the command or influence of a ‘cowardly’ figure—signaling frustration with inaction and a push toward decisive conduct.
