शल्यं सेनापतिं कृत्वा मद्रराजं महारथा: । प्रविभज्य बल॑ सर्वमनीकेषु व्यवस्थिता:,समस्त महारथी मद्रराज शल्यको सेनापति बनाकर और सारी सेनाको अनेक भागोंमें विभक्त करके भिन्न-भिन्न दलोंमें खड़े हुए
sañjaya uvāca |
śalyaṃ senāpatiṃ kṛtvā madrarājaṃ mahārathāḥ |
pravibhajya balaṃ sarvam anīkeṣu vyavasthitāḥ ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Habiendo nombrado a Śalya, rey de Madra, como comandante en jefe, los grandes guerreros de carro dividieron todo el ejército y ocuparon sus puestos en divisiones de batalla separadas, con orden y disciplina.
संजय उवाच
Even in war, responsibility is expressed through order: appointing a capable commander and arranging troops systematically reflects disciplined leadership and the kṣatriya emphasis on organized duty rather than impulsive violence.
Sañjaya reports that the warriors appoint Śalya, the king of Madra, as commander-in-chief and then divide and station the whole army into multiple battle-divisions, preparing for coordinated combat.
