वार्तिकांश्षाब्रवीद् राजा पुत्रस्ते सत्यविक्रम:
sañjaya uvāca |
vārtikāṁś cābravīd rājā putras te satyavikramaḥ |
pṛṣṭhato 'nugamiṣyāmi sārthahīno yathādhvagaḥ ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Entonces el rey—tu hijo, firme en el verdadero valor—pronunció estas palabras: «Los seguiré, como un viajero que queda rezagado tras perder su caravana». En el contexto, Duryodhana presenta su muerte inminente como un viaje solitario después de la caída de sus compañeros, insinuando un sombrío ajuste moral tras una guerra que él considera concluida por el adharma.
