evaṁ vyutkrāntadharmeṇa vyutkramya samayaṁ hataḥ |
Sañjaya dijo: «Así, a manos de quien se ha apartado del dharma—tras quebrantar la regla pactada del combate—he sido abatido.» La frase presenta la muerte no como simple derrota en el campo de batalla, sino como una falta moral: el hablante sostiene que el golpe violó el “samaya”, el código convenido del duelo de mazas, y por ello lo califica de adharma, no de victoria legítima.
