प्रादुरासीन्महाराज सृष्टयोर्वज़योरिव । महाराज! उन दोनों गदाओंके टकरानेसे भयंकर शब्द हुआ और आगकी चिनगारियाँ छूटने लगीं। उस समय ऐसा जान पड़ा, मानो दोनों ओरसे छोड़े गये दो वज्र परस्पर टकरा गये हों || ४० ई ।।
sañjaya uvāca | prādurāsīn mahārāja sṛṣṭayor vajrayor iva | vegavatyā tayā tatra bhīmasena-pramuktayā |
Sañjaya dijo: Oh rey, se alzó un sonido espantoso, como si dos rayos hubiesen sido arrojados y chocaran entre sí. Del violento impacto de las dos mazas saltaron chispas de fuego. Allí, aquel golpe veloz lanzado por Bhīmasena se precipitó hacia delante—señal de que, en el frenesí de la guerra, la fuerza desnuda y la ira pueden ahogar la mesura y el consejo.
