Transliteration

kechic chailāmbudaprakhyāḥ śakr̥odyatagadāyudhāḥ | kechid añjanapuñjābhāḥ kechic chvetācalaprabhāḥ ||

Translation

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Entre aquellos seres, unos parecían montañas oscuras y nubes de lluvia, blandiendo mazas alzadas como armas; otros se veían como montones de negrura de colirio; y otros resplandecían con el fulgor de cumbres blancas. La escena subraya cómo la guerra congrega fuerzas de muchas clases y formas: terrible, abrumadora y moralmente gravosa en su violencia.
