स लब्ध्वा तपसोग्रेण ब्राह्मणत्वं महायशा:

Transliteration

sa labdhvā tapasogreṇa brāhmaṇatvaṃ mahāyaśāḥ

Translation

Dijo Vaiśaṃpāyana: Por el poder de una áspera ascesis, aquel de gran renombre alcanzó la condición de brāhmaṇa—señal de que la elevación moral nace de la disciplina y el dominio de sí, y no sólo del linaje o de la fuerza mundana.
