सप्तसारस्वतं चैव तीर्थ पुण्यं तथा स्मृतम्‌ । इस प्रकार सात सरस्वती नदियोंका नामोल्लेखपूर्वक वर्णन किया गया है। इन्हींसे सप्तसारस्वत नामक परम पुण्यमय तीर्थका प्रादुर्भाव बताया गया है

Transliteration

saptasārasvataṃ caiva tīrthaṃ puṇyaṃ tathā smṛtam |

Translation

Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: «El vado sagrado conocido como Saptasārasvata es asimismo recordado como de altísimo mérito.» En este contexto, se alude a que, tras nombrar las siete corrientes de la Sarasvatī, su santidad se reúne en el célebre lugar de peregrinación llamado Saptasārasvata, subrayando la ética del Mahābhārata: que el recuerdo, la reverencia y el acercamiento recto a los tīrthas sostienen la purificación interior aun en medio de la áspera narración de la guerra.
