Resolve for the Mace Duel

सर्वो विमृशते जन्तुः कृच्छुस्थो धर्मदर्शनम्‌ । पदस्थ: पिद्ठितं द्वारं परलोकस्य पश्यति

sarvo vimṛśate jantuḥ kṛcchrastho dharmadarśanam | padasthaḥ pihitaṃ dvāraṃ paralokasya paśyati ||

Dijo Yudhiṣṭhira: «Todo ser, cuando cae en la aflicción, reflexiona y apela a la visión del dharma para protegerse. Pero cuando está asentado en el poder y la posición, ve la puerta del más allá como si estuviera cerrada—y olvida las exigencias de la rectitud hasta que la crisis regresa.»
