Dvaipāyana-hrade Duryodhanasya Māyā — Yudhiṣṭhirasya Dharmoktiḥ (Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 30)
न त्वेतदद्भधुतं वीरा यद् वो महदिदं मनः । अस्मासु च परा भक्तिर्न तु काल: पराक्रमे,वीरो! आपके मनमें जो युद्धके लिये महान् उत्साह बना हुआ है, यह कोई अद्भुत बात नहीं है। आपलोगोंका मुझपर महान् प्रेम भी है, तथापि यह पराक्रम प्रकट करनेका समय नहीं है
na tv etad adbhutaṃ vīrā yad vo mahad idaṃ manaḥ | asmāsu ca parā bhaktir na tu kālaḥ parākrame ||
Duryodhana dijo: «No es en absoluto sorprendente, oh héroes, que vuestros corazones estén colmados de tan gran determinación para la batalla. También es evidente vuestra profunda devoción hacia mí; pero no es este el momento de mostrar vuestro valor.»
