द्वैपायनह्रदे दुर्योधनान्वेषणम् / The Search for Duryodhana at Dvaipāyana Lake
प्रजानाथ! उनके साथ हाथोंमें बेंतकी छड़ी लिये द्वारपाल भी चल रहे थे। रानियोंकी रक्षामें नियुक्त हुए सेवक शुभ्र एवं बहुमूल्य बिछौने लेकर शीघ्रतापूर्वक नगरकी ओर चलने लगे
prajānātha! teṣāṃ sārdhaṃ hastayoḥ vetra-daṇḍaṃ dhārayantaḥ dvārapālā api calanti sma. rājñī-rakṣāyāṃ niyuktāḥ sevakāḥ śubhrāṇi bahumūlyāni śayanāni gṛhītvā śīghratayā nagaraṃ prati jagmuḥ.
Oh señor de los pueblos, junto con ellas avanzaron también los guardianes de las puertas del palacio, con bastones en las manos. Los servidores destinados a proteger a las reinas partieron con premura hacia la ciudad, llevando lechos blancos y costosos.
संजय उवाच
Even in turbulent times, dharma expresses itself through disciplined roles—guards guarding, attendants protecting the vulnerable, and the court maintaining order. The verse highlights responsibility and protective duty as ethical conduct.
Sanjaya reports that gatekeepers carrying canes accompany the party, while attendants assigned to the queens’ security hurry toward the city with clean, valuable bedding—preparing safe and proper arrangements for the royal women.
