Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault
योधयन्तावपश्येतां कृतप्रतिकृतैषिणौ । वे दोनों वीर महारथी उत्तम कुलमें उत्पन्न हुए थे! अतः समरांगणमें एक-दूसरेके प्रहारका प्रतीकार करनेकी इच्छा रखकर जूझते दिखायी देते थे
yodhayantāv apaśyetāṃ kṛta-pratikṛtaiṣiṇau |
Dijo Sañjaya: Mientras combatían, se los veía como a dos guerreros empeñados en pagar golpe con contragolpe—cada uno buscando una respuesta adecuada a lo que se le había hecho. Nacidos de linaje noble y adiestrados como grandes guerreros de carro, se esforzaban en el campo de batalla con la resolución de responder al ataque del otro con un acto equivalente, encarnando la dura reciprocidad que rige el combate cuando el honor y la represalia se vuelven la ley inmediata.
