Śalya–Yudhiṣṭhira Duel and the Discharge of the Śakti (शल्यवधप्रसङ्गः)
साश्षारोहांश्व तुरगान् पत्तींश्वैव सहस्रधा । व्यपोथयत संग्रामे क्रुद्धों रुद्रः पशूनिव
sāśvārūḍhānś ca turagān pattīṃś caiva sahasradhā | vyapothayat saṅgrāme kruddho rudraḥ paśūn iva ||
Dijo Sañjaya: En lo más recio de la batalla, destrozó a los jinetes sobre sus corceles y también a la infantería, despedazándolos de incontables maneras, como Rudra enfurecido que derriba a las bestias. El verso subraya cómo la ira en la guerra puede convertir a los combatientes humanos en objetos de destrucción indiscriminada, despertando asombro y desasosiego moral ante una violencia sin discernimiento.
