Adhyāya 14: Śalya’s Missile-Pressure and the Pāṇḍava Convergence (शल्यस्य शरवर्षम्)

The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of stepping forward in a righteous cause during crisis: notable warriors are expected to take responsibility in battle, reinforcing collective duty and resolve.
Sañjaya reports that Suratha, a great chariot-warrior aligned with the Pāñcālas, also joins the battle, indicating the arrival or renewed participation of a significant fighter in the ongoing conflict.
