शल्यस्य पाण्डवसेनापीडनम् — Śalya’s Assault on the Pāṇḍava Host
with Omens and Bhīma’s Counter
ततः कपिध्वजो राजन् हत्वा संशप्तकान् रणे । अभ्यद्रवत तां सेनां कौरवीं पाण्डुनन्दन:,नरेश्वर! तदनन्तर पाण्डुनन्दन कपिध्वज अर्जुनने भी संशप्तकोंका संहार करके रणभूमिमें उस कौरवसेनापर आक्रमण किया
tataḥ kapidhvajo rājan hatvā saṁśaptakān raṇe | abhyadravat tāṁ senāṁ kauravīṁ pāṇḍunandanaḥ ||
Sañjaya dijo: «Entonces, oh rey, el hijo de Pāṇḍu —Arjuna, cuyo estandarte lleva el emblema de Hanumān—, tras dar muerte a los Saṁśaptakas en combate, se lanzó de frente contra aquel ejército Kaurava.»
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness in one’s appointed duty (kṣatriya-dharma): after completing a difficult task—defeating vow-bound opponents—Arjuna does not lapse into pride or hesitation but proceeds directly to the next necessary action in the larger struggle.
After killing the Saṁśaptakas on the battlefield, Arjuna (Kapidhvaja) immediately charges into the main Kaurava formation, intensifying the battle as Sañjaya reports the events to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra.
